Here at Felt HQ in Christchurch we’re in love with the colourful giraffes that have taken over our city. (Yes, you heard right and we haven’t overdosed on leftover Christmas pudding – Christchurch has been invaded by giraffes!)
At 7.30pm this Sunday, Christchurch’s new creative innovation workshop, Fab Lab XCHC, is hosting a special screening of Maker, a documentary about the maker movement. Steampunk Runway, 7pm, Saturday 2 August, Christchurch
Christchurch’s South Library has gone steampunk, with a great range of themed events, displays, a market – and of course books. Drop in and see a gorgeous array of crafts and creations of the Victorian Future – from corsets to rayguns, jewellery to rocketships! The highlight will be their Steampunk Runway evening, a fashion extravaganza showcasing the imaginative entries in their steampunk competition.
Sebastian Denize of Hand Cast Pewter has been making medieval-style accessories out of pewter for more than fifteen years. These little historical treasures complete a medieval costume wonderfully, but also looks fantastic on modern coats, hats, bags and other clothing and accessories.
