Christchurch’s South Library in Beckenham has gone steampunk, with a great range of themed events, displays, a market – and of course books. Drop in and see a gorgeous array of craftsmaship from the Victorian Future – from corsets to rayguns, jewellery to rocketships!
The highlight will be their Steampunk Runway evening on Saturday 2 August from 7pm, a fashion extravaganza showcasing the imaginative entries in their steampunk competition. Lords and ladies, lads and ladettes will be dressed to kill in their own special ensembles, alongside an array of steampunked objects. There will also be a steampunk-themed market in the library’s lobby on the night.
South Library is located at 66 Colombo Street, on the corner of Hunter Terrace. Displays continue until Sunday 10 August.
