I’m very, very sorry for Felt’s absence

I would like to apologise to everyone who has been inconvenienced by Felt’s absence for the last 48 hours.

On Tuesday the server that Felt operates from crashed. What followed was numerous attempts to get it up and running again, all of which failed. The last 24 hours have been spent setting Felt up on a new and better server, and rebuilding the site from offsite backups.

As far as we can tell, everything is back to normal, however it may take a few days to iron out all the issues caused by the crash. If you made a purchase or a sale, sent a message or created/edited a listing in the 24 hours before the crash (from Monday morning onwards), it’s possible that some data may have been lost.

If you have any problems or notice anything odd or missing, please don’t hesitate to contact me at admin@felt.co.nz.

It is a big relief to have Felt back online and thank you so much to everyone who contacted me to let me know there were problems. I am always grateful that Felt seems to attract very patient and understanding customers, and I feel terrible when something like this happens and tests your patience.

Although the shift to the new server has been a temporary setback, in the long run it will mean improvements in Felt’s service and reliability and we are taking further steps to prevent this ever happening again.

Thank you for your patience and support.
