Fabric-a-brac, Saturday 13 November, Wellington

Fabric-a-brac is back! If you’re a textile or haberdashery nut (as I know many Felt blog readers are) and in the coolest little capital in the world this weekend, head along to St Anne’s Hall on Emmet Street in Newtown from 9am till 1pm tomorrow, Saturday 13 November.

Fabric is coming out of closets, suitcases and secret hiding places around the city and you can expect the usual mix of old, not-so-old, funky, modern, new, upholstery and loads more wonderful fabric and sewing accessories. If you’ve got pieces of quality fabric you’d like to donate, you can do so to help raise money for Mary Potter Hospice – see www.fabricabrac.co.nz for drop off points.

You can also bring along your scissors to be sharpened and there are $5 demo sessions with Mindy from Juniper and a talk by Ann Packer. Exciting!
10am–11am Juniper’s Lucky Dip: creating Christmas pressies from your lovely fabric finds.
11am–11.20am Look What I Found! Textile treasure hunt with Ann Packer.
12noon–1pm Juniper’s Lucky Dip: creating Christmas pressies from your lovely fabric finds.
Your $5 workshop fee will be donated directly to Mary Potter Hospice. Bookings at the venue 15 minutes beforehand.
