Crafty chat in Christchurch

Crafty Business continues its line up of social and educational events for crafty businesspeople in Christchurch this month, with the Crafty Business Chat Show, an evening of entertainment and enlightenment at Ed Hopper Café and Bar, corner of Clarence Street and Riccarton Road, at 7pm this Thursday 26 September. Gold coin admission – bring your pocket money too to sample Ed Hopper’s tasty menu!

This is a chance to pick the brains of five local movers and shakers, each with their own unique spin on maker culture, the craft community and doing business: Carl Pavletich, awesome designer and co-founder of Christchurch Makercrate; Jo Blakemore, designer and creator of Random Little Things; Abbie Pickrill, co-founder of The Craft Collective and market organiser extraordinaire; Justin or Kirsty Hosking (family duties yet to be assigned!), founders of The Make Café; and last but not least RDU’s own James Meharry, purveyor of fresh home pressed music to the masses.

Crafty Business is a chance for Christchurch makers to get together, exchange ideas, learn new skills, collaborate and socialise with like-minded people. If craft is your career or you’re exploring the possibilities of turning your hobby into a business, or if you’re just curious about the business of craft, join us!
