Since FeltAid was set up in mid-September following the Canterbury earthquake, this awesome crafty fundraising initiative has raised over $4000 for the relief effort in Canterbury. Led by Sarah of Songbird Designs, Ana of Amiana and assisted by Cat of Phersu Dancing and a team of volunteers, dozens of Felt sellers have stepped up and donated hundreds of gorgeous handmade items for sale, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.
With Felt providing services free of charge and the huge amount of administrative work, marketing, design and promotion undertaken completely voluntarily, FeltAid has been a dedicated labour of love and support for the people of Canterbury and it makes me really proud to be part of our fabulous craft community.
And of course, it wouldn’t have succeeded without all the lovely people who have visited the FeltAid shop to lend their support by buying handmade!
FeltAid finishes on Sunday, so there’s still time to get in a bit of Christmas shopping or treat yourself to something beautiful.
