This Riroriro/Grey Warbler Chick is a print of graphite on paper.
The Riroriro is a NZ native. Also known as the Grey Warbler. It is more often heard than seen. It is a foster parent to the shining cuckoo who tips the Riroriro eggs and chicks from the nest, so often the parents only raise one nest of chicks a year.
It is drawn in layers building up from a base of mid-tone graphite to the darks and lights that create the texture and shading.
This print is A4 (21 cm x 29.5 cm). It can fit an A4 frame or an 8 x 10 (20 cm x 25.5 cm) frame.
