This kākāpō / night parrot is a fine art print of graphite and watercolour on paper.
One of the world’s rarest birds, the kākāpō is also the heaviest parrot. It is nocturnal and flightless. The male’s boom, used to attract females, is believed to carry further than the call of any other bird in the world.
My style is to draw in layers building up from a base of mid-tone graphite to the darks and lights that create the texture and shading. The colours are added once the tones are in place.
This print is A4 (21 cm x 29.5 cm). It can fit an A4 frame or an 8 x 10 (20 cm x 25.5 cm) frame.
