Paula Layton is a busy woman. Owner of two businesses on Felt, The Seamstress and Rockit, she lives in Nelson with her husband and two kids. “Life is crazy busy! When I’m not sewing for my two clothing labels or spending time with my family, I love to bake. I do a small amount of work for a café and have a catering job through summer. I’m a bit of a modern day domestic goddess with no time for house work!”

Clever, creative, crafty people from all around Mapua and the Nelson and Bays region are gearing up for the third Mapua Makers Market, a showcase of quality, handmade contemporary craft. Following on from two successful markets in 2012, the third Mapua Makers Market will showcase more wonderful makers with an excellent range of handmade goodies.
From his studio in Nelson, Mike Hindmarsh designs distinctively stylish contemporary furniture. He specialises in sustainable furniture designs in plywood and his work has been featured in Urbis and appeared in Air New Zealand’s KiaOra magazine. Selected pieces from Mike’s furniture range can be seen in his Felt shop, mikesdesigns.
