Mixing, mulling, and making the world a brighter place

When Natasha Hamlin took up watercolour painting as a creative outlet to balance the demands of her day job, it led her down a more colourful path than she had anticipated – into making the paints from scratch herself. From mixing a few custom colours for her own artistic pursuits, she has built a collection of more than 80 pigments in her Ōtepoti Dunedin studio, and turned her hand to creating watercolour paints for other artists to express themselves. Introducing: Yonder Paints!

Gifts you can pick up

New filters on Felt mean buyers can browse by region and filter by “pick up”, meaning last minute gift purchases don’t lose time to shipping. We love this new functionality because Felt is all about connecting with and supporting your local community – whether that’s New Zealand-wide or discovering the talented makers doing their thing in your very neighbourhood.

Fruppets, peepers, and Creatures of Chaos

First found in West Auckland, before migrating to the Bay of Plenty region, Fruppets evolved in the home studio of Tauranga creature designer Erin Knock, at the heart of a handsewn ecosystem that also includes peepers, pompoms, eye stalks, and chaos dust. For Armageddon attendees, children of the ’80s and ’90s (and their children…), and lovers of all things Henson, Seuss, and Burton, this is tribute – Creatures of Chaos, endemic to Aotearoa. So cute, so creepy, so …collectable.
