Hi my name is Graeme but I also go by Gram.

Every Saturday morning I back the car out of the shed, then the bikes, I put on an old paint splattered jumper and I make something. I make garden obelisks (pls enquire), dovetail boxes, board games, armillary spheres, furniture, I've even welded together my own bicycle. For me, making things is a creative outlet that allows me to explore new ideas and follow new energies. I particularly enjoy making pieces that are original, artistic and yet completely functional. I work with wood, metals, leather, and stone and my items tend to be one-offs or small batches. Once they're gone they're gone and I'm onto another idea.

When ever appropriate I try to use reclaimed materials or off-cuts from larger fabricators that are too small for others to use. I also try to reuse packaging where I can, ideally compostable cardboard and butcher paper if I can. But never anything old and tatty.

I'm based in Palmerston North, when I'm not making stuff I'm a full time scientist.
