“The Path Unknown”. New Zealand
Original Linocut, Limited Edition of 11.
All numbered, titled and signed.
Reduction relief print with 14 colour layers, using Schmincke water-based, light-fast inks.
Individually handprinted on 100% cotton, Fabriano Disegno paper 300gsm, with hand deckled edges.
Print size is 200mm x 280mm
Paper size 360mm X 480mm
Reduction printing is when a block is cut into with small chisels, in this case a lino block, and a layer of colour is printed on all editions. Then more is cut away, and a second colour printed on top. Repeating this process until the desired number of layers and depth is built up, by which time the block is destroyed, and the edition is complete.
As each print is individually inked and pressed, there will be slight variations, making them even more one of a kind!
Print comes unframed, wrapped in cellophane for protection, and will be posted in a tube.
Alternatively, can be sent flat,sandwiched between stiff card or foam board (let me know at purchase).
