Long Tui Patterned Merino Scarf.

This warm, luxurious, scarf has been hand made and is a celebration of colour and pattern, inspired by the stunning colours seen in the plumage of Tui birds.
I use native New Zealand bird photography as reference. Patterns are created in rich cobalt blue, turquoise and teal. At one end I have included the delightful contrasting orangey tones seen in the pollen build up on the bird's beak. At the opposite end is a row of fluffy white detail as a nod to the Tui fluff ball at its neck.(I used a fine spun silk, cashmere, merino mix to capture the right texture.) This detail was added in by hand process, took ages but had to be done!!

The scarf will be very warm and can be worn as a wrap around the shoulders for an under coat warm layer or bunched up around the neck to suit current trend.
Perfect if you like to have fun with colour, looking different if wrapped in different ways.

All patterns used are original, hand drawn graphics, push button entered into my machine. The yarn is a top end, smooth fine 100% merino. The type that would be used to make luxury quality knitted apparel. A good solid cardigan weight with great drape and luxurious quality, robust and hand washable.
