Don’t let the name put you off! This plump, sweet bean has a lovely smooth texture and is an excellent producer.
These mottled cream and taupe beans are best as a dried storage bean, though they’re also a good snap bean if harvested young enough. Their flavor is so good they need only garlic and oil to dress them up, but of course they can be used in any dried bean recipe.
Plant in spring when the soil is warming and all risk of frosts has passed.
