"Katwise" Style Swing Coat - 12-16

It seems anyone who knows about craft, and sewing, and loves colour and clothing has heard of Katwise, the artist from New York who has been making and selling these coats on Etsy for years now. Her coats sell within minutes of being listed, so, a couple of years ago she put up a tutorial for sale. I bought it with the intention of making one or two for myself, then as they sold like hotcakes, and people seemed to want and love them, I kept making them. Now, I make sure I have one or two sitting around.

After selling half a dozen or so, I wrote to her saying "thanks" because a designer who is willing to share is rare in these times of "intellectual property." And because I work mainly alone, it's lovely to play with other people's ideas once in a while.

So - if you have an overlocker and the time stop right now and go look her up on Etsy, download the tutorial and make it yourself.

The rest of you are welcome to purchase! These coats are a total show stopper, as well as being warm and practical. I've seen some of my creations used as comfort blankets on more than one occasion!

This one is a real gypsy coat, with a kaleidoscope of bright colours framed by black. It's got one long deep pocket, and a long pointy hood. It closes with a couple of blue ties in a crossover style.
