Hi there! My name is Jen, and I have woven this Wrapt Weaving creation one of the looms in my home. If you are holding a wrap, there is more than 1 kilometre of yarn in it; a blanket 800m; 500m for a scarf or a runner. Each meter of yarn in your Wrapt creation has run through my hands at least once—a true definition of ‘hand-made’!
My love for yarn came as a child at my Nan’s knitting machine, and the absolute certainty that I needed a football scarf made by my own hand. More recently I was lucky enough to live on the beautiful Pacific island of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands. Whilst there, a group of ‘aunties’ taught me to weave island style, with pandanus and coconut fibres. The floor mat I wove there over nine months remains one of my proudest weaving moments.
Now living in back in NZ, I am inspired to use colour and texture to create items from wool, alpaca, silk and more for home and to wear.
Please enjoy your Wrapt Weaving creation, knowing it was created with my hands and my heart for you.
