Hi. My name is Nigel and not so very long ago I was a stressed out insurance manager, a job which I had dutifully undertaken for some 28 years. I'd had enough and an opportunity to exit stage right presented and I took it with both hands. Unfortunately then I really didn't have much of an idea what to do. Many, many years ago my Dad had shown himself to be a dab hand at woodwork and on the spur of the moment I decided to follow his lead. Wood U Like New Zealand was born. The only problem was that I really didn't know anything about woodworking and my Dad was no longer around. I decided to simply have a go and I made a few things and established a stall at the wonderful Nelson Market. I was very surprised when the few things I made were soon bought so I made some more. Pretty soon people were coming to my stall to ask me to custom build items and these items were then added to my product range. Wood U Like is now a regular fixture at the Nelson Market and I'm hugely enjoying my change in life direction. I hope you like my creations too.
