WoodandEarth is owned by a husband and wife team, Jamahl Kappely and Cammie Blaisdell, who live and work in the mountains on their off-grid life-style block, south of Nelson, NZ.

Cammie is a sculptural ceramicist and painter, whose work is often inspired by nature, myths, and symbolism from around the world. Each sculpture that she hand-builds, or painting she creates, contains it's own unique story that reflects a deep respect for nature and the cycles of life. While no two pieces are the same, some themes shine through, such as the human connection to the natural world, life and death and rebirth, shamanism, and connecting to the human spirit. Her professional portfolio can be viewed at www.missbelisamaart.com

Jamahl has a infinite love and respect for trees and timber and enjoys being creative with this varied and diverse material. He spends his spare time working wood into various forms, sculptures and furniture. Much of his art has a useful purpose yet some of it is purely an outdoor or indoor piece to be gazed upon with a warm smile! The majority of the pieces carved and created are hand-picked timbers from trees that have been given a second life after being discarded by land owners or on the road side. He also has a talent in restoring pieces of old furniture, expanding the life and use of all those wonderful things created by creative furniture makers of the past. Most pieces are a one-off, although commissions of existing pieces are welcome within a varied creative guideline.
