Hi, my name is Troy
I make artwork out of copper and wood. I like to use flame heat and patinas to give my art a natural finish.
We, my wife and our two children, are located in Inglewood, Taranaki. A rural setting up under the mountain where there is lots of inspiration.
Christmas 2020, we started selling artwork at a local Gallery in New Plymouth and early 2021 on Felt.
My favourite materials to work with are the copper and wood. I enjoy shaping and creating artworks out of copper and making them into something that people can appreciate. We like the thought of reusing and recycling where we can. This means using material that would otherwise have been left to the scrap man and firepile. The wood is natural, and easy to dress up and it compliments the copper nicely.
My family and the nature surrounding me are what inspire me most.
My creative process starts with sketching designs in a sketch pad. I then bring that sketch to life in the workshop.
My sketch pad is currently full, and I’m always excited about starting the next concept.
It means a lot to me when someone takes interest in my artworks and when they purchase a product from WoodandCo. It means that I can continue doing what I enjoy most. It makes me happy to know that customers have gone home with an art piece that they connect with.
