I took the road less travelled......

Since an early age I have been drawn to playing and creating with both fabric and fibre. I find it soothing and relaxing to create and make. My inspiration largely comes from nature and the outdoors which is a big part of my life.

I like to try all sorts of crafts; over the years I have developed some of these skills and dabbled (and still do) in plenty more. At present I do a lot of crochet, sewing and embroidery. I love the the way a piece of string can be developed into something both beautiful and functional.

I have been fortunate over the years to live in some beautiful and inspiring spots around the country and away from the general hustle and bustle of life. At present I am based in South Westland and have been for some time.

As well as making and creating I spend a lot of time in the bush, both on and off track, camping, walking, etc. My other pastimes include gardening, cooking, food production, self-sufficiency and video making. At the moment my partner and I are embarking on building a Tiny House. Recently (early 2023) we walked the length of the South Island. Prior to that, my job entailed spending many days and hours in the South Westland back country.

I love to take my craft out and about with me, sitting by the river bank with crochet hook in hand and glancing up at the tops of the trees, or being alone in a mountain hut, hot cup of coffee by my side.

It’s time for some crochet!
