My whole soul is thrown into every piece created, I want you to feel the story & experience.

Nestled in a cottage garden in the rural Rangitkei is the studio of artist Tammie Hodgetts it is a place surrounded by native birds and stunning vistas which influence Hodgetts pieces.

The studio its self is very important to Tammie as it holds her inspiration & its her place to make, create, grow & continue to mature her practice. There are years of brushes jammed in vases each with its own memory of this journey, pictures & prints of favourite pieces adore the walls & half finished paintings lean on walls settling on ideas, and been viewed in different lights.

The art of landscape painting is given a fresh perspective as it collides with cubism, organic forms are used to create movement why colour creates paintings that enchant.

Painting & creating is for me about using colour & light, I enjoy working with paint prepping palettes & mixing colours is such a huge part of what I do as a artist, I'm always looking for new ideas, ways of working & in turn what I am creating. I want people to be able to take home show stopper pieces to enjoy for years to come.
