I love working with uncommon wood types and native timber from New Zealand and abroad, as well as other interesting unique materials.

I particularly like pieces with cracks and knots and wood that would usually be considered a pest or "unusable" species, such as Privet and Gorse. In my opinion it gives each piece a certain "rustic charm" and personality.

I try not make run-of-the-mill items, they're all unique "one-offs" and as such, no two are alike. Examples are wood turned pens, coffee scoops, shaving kits, magic wands & more from a range of interesting materials.
