Retuned came about one day while taking the family for our weekly treasure hunt to the city dump. Seeing all those "piles of potential" and pre-loved items just waiting for another go at life. Sort of like the old loyal dog who sits steering at you behind the wire fence waiting to be adopted. I wanted my son to grow up knowing that New Zealand deserves to be clean and green and that value begins through the eyes of those looking.

I am an artist both painting and creating works of art that have been reinstated with a domestic value. I try and upcycle as much of my materials as possible which in turn creates a unique process of producing an item.

Re-tuned is a play on words. The old records/lps I use which were once a delight for some listener some how ended in the dump. I take this item re-tune it to a new look,sound,bring the music back in a different form for a new viewer.

I create and paint because I love it! I love the fact that my art can be on the other side of the world. A little piece of me and a piece of New Zealand in someones house. How cool is that!
