My passion for photography began in secondary school, where I was renown for becoming lost in the darkroom and frequently late for class. I am as absorbed by the process now as I was then.
The last twenty-five years have seen me wear a variety of photographic hats, including as a military photographer in the New Zealand Airforce and as a commercial photographer in the wedding and portraiture arena. These last eight years have brought me full circle, and back to being thoroughly immersed in the creative process of fine art photography. For me it is the perfect medium for indulging my love of the intimate details of New Zealand life.
I now work mostly within in a studio environment combined with a digital darkroom, which enables me to merge multiple photographic layers and textures in order to produce images which blur the lines between art and traditional photography.
I am fortunate to have a husband and two teenage children who tolerate my absorption into my work with good humour, and whom I can occasionally bribe into collecting my ‘perfect’ specimens.
Currently my interest lies in creating images which follow in the path of classic styles of art within a New Zealand context, and I am really excited about the direction that this is taking me.

I hope you enjoy my work.
