Hello, my name is Anthea, Greek for "of the flowers"
My plant journey began ten years ago when I created my first herb garden, this opened a new world for me. I began exploring herbal remedies, different tea blends and began working with essential oils as well.
At that time, I didn't realise the true possibilities that awaited me. Through a series of unique experiences, I was led to an organic horticulture community in the Coromandel and lived there for five years between 2012-2017.
This is where I truly delved into my herbal education. I quickly became the mistress of the herb garden and the manufacturer of balms, soaps and teas for commercial sale.
I loved that herb garden, I was intrigued by the life cycles of the plants and how the seasons and moon cycles affected which part of the plant to gather and when to harvest. I planted out seeds, tended to the garden, harvest, made cuttings, and saved seed. I held workshops sharing my knowledge and learnt so much from my students. Looking back I realise this was just like an apprenticeship. Hands-on practical experience in all aspects of herbs.
Fast forward to 2020 and I am partway through the Bachelor Degree in Natural Medicine working towards becoming a Medical Herbalist and Naturopath.
Of the Flowers, is in its 8th year and I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love and love what I do. Thank you for your support.
