Hello and Welcome to Mermaid's Purse!

These beautiful handmade items are carefully made with love in Aotearoa. I make many things, often out of vintage and upcycled material, and they all start with a fun idea, when I became a mother in February 2008 I started making big batches of felt cupcakes... life had become so domestic! But I also love my garden and our beautiful ocean so many more projects reflect that obsession.

Mermaid's Purse specialities:

Lovely Felt cupcake pincushions, are made in small batches of either 12, 6 or fewer and each cupcake has the number (1 of 6, 7 of 12 etc.) embroidered on the base. Each item is a one off, part of a limited edition produced. Current batches include delicious Vanilla Cream, After Dinner Mint Chocolate, Caramel and Cotton Candy.

Special Needle Wallets, these are a wonderful gift for anyone stitching and crafty as they are perfect for storing your favourite or most used needles. Each one is completely original, with hand-cut designs carefully stitched to the cover and made in two sizes. Designs reflect marine organisms, things from my garden and other odd objects.

Shipping:

I ship items purchased within 2-3 working days upon receipt of payment, sometimes faster. If you have any special requests or requirements please let me know. I do not charge for handling, and try to recycle all my packaging, please contact me via Felt if you wish to purchase multiple items as combining postage may reduce shipping costs. Postage costs are based on standard post, so if you would prefer 'track and trace' please let me know and I will confirm additional costs.

Returns & Refunds:

If you are unhappy with your purchase please contact me via Felt. I'll am happy to replace or refund items that do not meet your expectations provided they are returned within 7 days and in the condition in which they were shipped.
