Loma Studios is the artistic home of Rebecca Lloyd, a seasoned creative who has honed her skills across a range of industries since 1998. With her partner and two pooches by her side she said goodbye to the big city and relocated to Mangawhai, Northland to pursue her dream of crafting unique, hand-made pieces that exude beauty and functionality.

Every bag and accessory is hand crafted to a very high standard in limited editions using quality, full grain bovine leather. Each hide is unique and is characterised by its natural markings and colour variations. It softens and beautifies as it ages, developing a distinctive patina that cannot be easily duplicated. Whilst crafting each piece some irregularities can occur and are all part of their beauty…..nothing mass produced here!

The leather used at Loma Studios is sourced from various suppliers from New Zealand, Australia and America. All these suppliers practice ethical sourcing from around the world.

How to care for your leather :

-Regularly air out and gently clean and dust with a soft cloth
-Blot any moisture off the surface as soon as possible
-Allow wet leather to dry naturally, avoid drying with artificial heat
-Store away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight
-Keep leather supple and protected, regularly condition with a quality leather
conditioner or beeswax dressing every 3-6 moths or monthly for dog collars and leads

Origins of Loma :

'Loma' is the name of my much loved Godmother/Aunty of sorts. A woman who loved fashion, was full of life and always understood me throughout my life. She is very much missed to this day xx
I have been told that Loma means 'Love' in Fijian, so it is a fitting name….for the love of my craft and the love of a strong and wonderful woman!
