I am a self confessed fabric nut and creator of all things sewable. I have been making things from fabric since I was 7 and follow in the footsteps of my mother and grandmother who made all their own clothes especially glamorous evening dresses. My life has been largely spent working with fabric and selling it under my Jenny Hill label. I prefer working with cotton and painting, printing and applique are my mediums.
Nowadays, my time is mostly spent volunteering for a local charity reducing fabric waste by rescuing damaged, high quality fabrics and garments which I repurpose.
Many pieces are sold for charity but sometimes a piece is so dear to my heart that I list it here. Zero waste and sustainability have become core values for me.
Just lately I have been experimenting with new techniques in painting and printing to create unique, edgy pieces like my Dropcloth jackets. As well, I adore working with rescued vintage fabrics which I treat with great respect and care to create pieces to showcase their timeless beauty.
