My papercraft started as a kid, spending hours with my brother David, constructing houses from cardboard, fabric, sellotape, glue and other treasure. My recent work is the product of a decades-long friendship. Artist Liz Walters inspired me to start creating again after 20 years crafting with my 3 daughters, but not for myself. The pieces we completed together were conceived while trawling secondhand stores and over a few wines.
Papier mache as a medium, appeals to me because of its simplicity. It is accessible to anyone, requiring little skill in its simplest form, but offers endless opportunity to construct and build.
