Hi there, thanks for visiting!
I’m Lou. I dabble in all sorts of creative arts, but printmaking is one of my absolute favourites. Here you'll find a mixture of linocut and screen printed art and cards, all made by hand, by me in my little home in Wilton, Wellington.
My husband and I spent about seven years away from New Zealand, and since our return two years ago we've been enjoying everything Aotearoa has to offer. We live in a little house on the town belt, surrounded by beautiful bush and birds. I’m a big nature geek and get a lot of peace and energy from the great outdoors, which is also where I get a lot of the inspiration for my art.
In case you're wondering about the name, no, I don’t actually hunt bears, but I am inspired by the 'bear hunt' – by which I mean the pursuit of adventure, the exploration of the unknown and an appreciation of the world around us.
I am currently studying for my Masters in Arts Therapy, which is reinforcing everything I know to be true about art and creativity: that it has the capacity to help us to heal and to connect with ourselves/others on all kinds of levels. I am also a trained teacher, and hope to one day run Hunting Bears workshops teaching others how to use art and craft to make the world a better place!
For more insight into my processes and the things that inspire me, please check out my blog at www.huntingbears.com.au.

Come on… join the bear hunt. I dare you.
