I took an interest in sewing at a very early age. In my teens I was lucky enough to be accepted for a 3 year training course in Couture Fashion Wear. It was hard work, paying attention to minute detail and at first, did a lot of unpicking! After two years I was told I had completed my training. Wow, I was delighted and stayed on for a couple of more years to learn as much as I could. Those training years established the back ground for opportunities to work for some amazing people in the fashion world to have my work recognized to be judged in Couture work, winning a Fashion Show in Australia. I have had my own business in dressmaking before raising a family. I also developed an interest in Quilting. That was something different, also exacting work. But moving on and recently I'm back behind the machine making clothes for children and having fun selling at the Markets. I love meeting the people, to see returning customers, some with pictures of children wearing what I've made. It's lovely to think of the dresses that have gone further afield to overseas. Most of my work are samples. meaning there is only one. I do take orders but it is only if I have the material and trimmings as I do not stock meters of the same material. I put a lot of time and care into each garment and have appreciated the lovely comments received from customers. There is always something exciting about each newly finished garment. Enjoy my shop and please feel free to ask a question whether it is about size or material.
With Warmth
Gretta.
