I have been naturally dyeing for over 5 years, exploring the potential of native and non-native plants. I have slowly grown my organic dye garden on the Wellington coast, so I know exactly where my dye has come from.
Natural dyeing is an ancient, slow craft with many processes and can take days and even weeks to complete and one which steps lightly on Papatūānuku (Mother Earth). I’m fascinated by the chemistry of natural dyeing and love exploring how the pigments in one plant might combine or react with another.

By buying a naturally dyed item you are not only helping Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) but helping support me to further explore the possibilities provided by plants and develop further a range of items to share.
