Dolls to inspire a little courage, and a little magic.

Courage Dolls are designed with the intention to connect us to our child within, delighting our imagination and sense of wonder. Every doll is one-of-a-kind, handmade from natural materials, stuffed with wool, and sustainably sewn using a foot-treadle Singer sewing machine.

Courage Dolls are made by Hilary Jean Tapper in Christchurch, New Zealand. She began making Courage Dolls after a slow, hidden struggle with depression and anxiety. The dolls re-awakened her child within, igniting her imagination, sense of play, and love for nature. She has been making Courage Dolls for four years now, and has witnessed her dolls going to countless courageous women and children around the world. She is now teaching Courage Doll making in New Zealand, and studying her Master's in Arts Therapy hoping to assist others who may be struggling find strength and joy again. If you have any questions or wish to get in touch, please don't hesitate to contact Hilary through Contact the Maker.
