My passion is primarily for drawing - but I need art to be functional, so I 'justify' my drawings by turning them into something tangible. I make earrings, pendants, bracelets, cufflinks, and other jewellery, hand-sealing my artwork under glass. I also have my designs custom-printed onto fabrics, which I sell as fat quarters or turn into fun accessories, offering many ways to #WorkYourQuirk.

Born a Diplobrat in the Middle East and raised in Europe and New Zealand, my formative years included travel and exposure to many different cultures and art styles. After acquiring an eclectic honours degree in Classics and Latin, I worked in customer service, then IT, to pay the bills. I launched my handmade jewellery brand, Phersu Dancing, in late 2007. After a hiatus from the market scene to recharge my creative batteries, I returned with Copper Catkin in 2016. All of my original designs are hand-drawn in pencil on paper, then scanned and coloured digitally.

As well as creating quirky artworks, I help stallholders to up their display game as Copper Catkin Consulting, and I am also the organiser of the Petone Winter Markets.
