Grab some yarn, go to Antarctica, write a book!

I am a multi-faceted creative. I will never be accused of having idle hands because I literally have to be doing something all the time, whether that is painting rocks, knitting, crocheting, mosaics, graphic design...it matters not. I am in my happy place when I am creating.

I am a Taurus. And one thing they say about the astrological bull is that they love beautiful things. I am inspired by the textile artist William Morris who said, "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be beautiful or believe to be useful".

Another interesting thing about me: I spent 20 years living and working in Antarctica. While there, I started seriously knitting and over time, developed my own patterns. I am known for my colourful knitted hats, combining great designs with warmth and functionality. I wrote a book with a friend, 'Knitting in Antarctica' which is also available for purchase on Felt.

I now live near Christchurch, New Zealand with my husband, filmmaker Anthony Powell. Check out our movie, 'Antarctica: A Year on Ice.' Currently, it's offered on Amazon Prime video. You'll find a trailer on YouTube so you can check it out.

Yours in creating,
Christine
