Aunt Mame Aprons are made in the Bay of Islands by a clever seamstress called Mame. Mame's kind brother Gordon bought her a sewing machine for a gift. Mame, who is a clever and creative person came up with the 'Aunt Mame Aprons' idea. The Bay of Islands area is a wonderful place for artisans - it has markets at the weekend and cruise ships come into Paihia. Mame had her apron stand at these venues. She became known for her friendliness and skill and for her lovely aprons. Then came covid. It was the end of cruise ships and markets. So Mame did gardening for a while. Mame is getting older now. She isn't able to 'do' all the markets and stalls. So, 'Felt' here she comes - Aunt Mame Aprons make wonderful gifts, they are perfect for souvenirs. They can be folded and posted very cheaply. The childrens aprons are a lovely gift - perfect for kiddies who love to 'help' and perfect for kiddies when they play with messy stuff. The fabric designs are lively and fun. The fabrics are fully washable . Aunt Mame Aprons are designed to wear well and look wonderful .
