I like to create beautiful items that the owners will feel are special. A handwoven garment or home textile can mark a special family occasions and will become a heritage item in your family. It's important to me that all my woven items look professional and feel comfortable.
I also make a range of everyday items so that those on a smaller budget can enjoy using a handwoven item such as a gorgeous flannel or environmentally friendly dishcloth.
Experimenting with colour and pattern is a lot of fun for me, which means that I create a lot of one off items which are prototypes for future weaves. There are so many different ways to explore the art of weaving that it is difficult to settle on one style or technique!
I use natural fibres in all my work. Most of these are from NZ but I sometimes buy yarn which has been sourced internationally. I use locally sourced NZ merino wool in a lot of my weaving. My range of baby blankets uses this lovely soft fibre.
I love this ancient craft and I love the joy that a beautiful handwoven item gives to the owner.
