This journal was inspired by a beautiful blog by softearthart, using the colours and textures and magic that is evident on this website.
The journal measures approx 15 cm square and contains 54 leaves sewn into 3 signatures, thats 108 pages to fill!!! The signatures are constructed of different weights and colours of paper, some translucent, some handmade from plant materials, all ready for wonderful words.
I created the cover from handmade silk paper which I then embroidered and embellished with silks and recycled and hand dyed fabric scraps. The journal is stitched together with waxed hand dyed chunky cotton.
Hidden within the pages are a few small surprises... just for fun!
I should add that the colours are slightly softer than in the photo's...it was the wrong time of day and I couldn't wait!!
