Leather card holder with utility pouch
Hand made from naturally tanned NZ sheep leather, I have dyed this with a blend of two Fiebings water based dyes. The burnt red result looks fantastic, especially with the darkened pocket edge work.
Measures 80mm by 110mm. Two cardholders for 8 to 10 plus cards, and a cash and utility pocket.
Sheep leather is very strong, but avoided by some crafters, because it is soft and supple and edges are harder to finish with traditional methods.
I love to work with it and have found my own method of finishing edges.
This is a good example of the result and adds to the classic, antique feel of the purse.
It has been generously oiled and waxed and finished with a professional water based acrylic protection for water resistance and a gorgeous sheen.
Please note that sharp fingernails may scratch the finish.
