Plant dyed merino 4ply - Passionfruit

Beautiful bright yellow yarn, hand dyed using all natural plant dyes. This is a solid colour but because of the nature of plant dyeing, there will be some slight variegation which adds to it's indie dyed character. Aotearoa grown 4 ply Merino and Lincoln wool blend sock yarn. Lincoln is a 100% natural fibre, adding strength to the yarn without adding synthetic fibres such as nylon. Perfect for small projects such as socks or a beanie.

I small batch dye in my Kaipara studio, using a natural zero waste process. Plants are harvested sustainably to make an immersion dye bath. In a second dyeing step, the variegated colours added using complimentary plants sources. Mordants have been used to ensure longevity of colours. Each skein is unique.

Colours have been photographed as accurately as possible.

Hand wash finished garment in warm water using wool wash only.
