Downloadable Print

This magnificent plant grows along a branch of the Kaiapoi River just North of Ōtautahi/Christchurch. I spent a few hours with the plant, making careful colour notes and preliminary sketches, what I call "getting to know the plant." I felt uplifted while in the presence of this harakeke, actually a collection of dozens of happy family groups. I've included a photo of the plant itself.

This is a high quality digital file, that you can use to print your own poster, t-shirt or fine artwork. The original was done using coloured pencils, watercolour pencils and technical pens on a beautiful creamy fabriano paper. I took this to the best printer in town for fine arts, so the digital file is as close as it can be to the original.
