Quirky and 100% unique, this one of a kind tapestry handbag is looking for someone to love.

Built by knotting select bits and bobs from the sewing room scraps bin, and satin selvedge ribbons (a locally sourced fabric waste) onto a cotton warp, this bag maxes out the lush with a red silk lining and handle. Handstitching in red, green and gold highlights the upcycled, patchworked scrap.

Colourwise it's a symphony of chaos.
A background of blacks with pops of yellow, orange, white, pink, green and blue, along with all the patterns. Individual pieces were selected for their stark contrasts in texture and size giving the bag it's geographic and topographical look and feel.

Constructed on a portable frame loom using entirely recycled materials it is 21cm wide, and 16cm tall.

It is the first bag finished using my new foldover lid design, and it fastens shut with an odd pair of buttons and loops (they're also it's eyes, air?)

The lining and tubular 140cm strap are made with soft red silk.

Wear it cross body, over your shoulder, or slung from your wrist (by looping the strap around your forearm a few times). You can also shorten the strap with a knot or bow, and hold the bag in your hand.

This listing is for the bag only, the contents of the bag for the photo shoot are not included.

PS - This bag has a character face, and is a sensory delight, it would make a great "going out teddy" aka emotional support snuggly toy in disguise.
