Original Limited Edition Linocut print.
“Song of the Sea”.
Limited Edition of 20.
All prints are numbered, titled and signed.
Individually handprinted Linoprint using the Reduction method, with 8-9 colour layers.
Printed on Fabriano Rosaspina paper, 220gsm, with hand deckled edges.
Cranfield Caligo safe-wash oil-based inks.
Paper size approx 350 x 480mm
Print area approx 225 x 295mm
Reduction printing is when a block is cut into with small chisels and a layer of colour is printed on all editions. Then more is cut away, and a second colour printed on top. Repeating this process until the desired number of layers and depth is built up, by which time the block is destroyed, and the Edition is complete.
As these are all individually handprinted, each print has very slight variations, making them even more one of a kind!
*** With the sea being printed as a colour-roll, there are more variations in this print than most. If you’d like to see the exact print I will post first, please ask and I can email an image.
Print comes unframed, and will be posted in a tube. Alternatively I can send flat, sandwiched between stiff card if preferred (please let me know at purchase).
