Guardian king sapphire butterfly pendant in fine silver

Guardian King butterfly, with the sapphire blue eyes to watch over you.
I started with a flat sheet of fine silver and sawed out the butterfly shape. Then I hand engraved the wings of the butterfly, and used some unique setting techniques to get the sapphires in and secure but with some added texture and style.
To get the contrasting black on the wing veins, I oxidise the silver.
From wing tip to wing tip, it measures 35mm and the body measures 16mm long.
This necklace is 54cm long, but it may need to be shorter or longer to sit nicely. I recommend measuring your favourite shorter chain and letting me know how long you would like this one to be. The butterfly sits nicest if it is just below your collarbone.
