Ngākau Uku - Clay Heart Ornament

This heart-shaped clay taonga is stamped with "Ngā mihi o te Wā" which translates as "Season's Greetings" in te reo Māori. We all know and love "Meri Kirihimete" which is a transliteration of "Merry Christmas", and this phrase is another way to recognise and celebrate a festive season, whether it be Christmas, Matariki, or another important time of celebration.

Hand stamped into a smooth white clay, air dried in the Wellington sun, and threaded with red and white striped cotton twine, this festive ornament would make a lovely Secret Santa gift for someone who likes to celebrate the Māori language.
