Long Merino Native Tui Pattern Scarf.

This warm, luxurious, scarf has been hand made and is a celebration of colour and pattern, inspired by the stunning colours seen in the plumage of Tui birds.
I use native New Zealand bird photography as reference. Patterns are created in rich blues, turquoise and teal. I have included fluffy white details as a nod to the Tui fluff ball at its neck.(I used a fine spun silk, cashmere, merino mix to capture the right texture.) This detail was added in by hand process, took ages but fun to create.

All patterns used are original, hand drawn graphics, push button entered into my machine. This one was referencing graphics I have drawn while looking at traditional weaving patterns. I use the graphic to mix colour within the scarf as I see them in Tui birds' feathers. The Yarn is a top end, smooth fine 100% merino. The type that would be used to make luxury quality knitted apparel. A good solid cardigan weight with great drape and luxurious quality, robust and hand washable.
The scarf will be very warm and can be worn as a wrap around the shoulders for warmth layer or layered around the neck to suit current trend.
