What you see before you is a genuine Black Maire handled coffee tamper.
It’ll definitely make a beautiful addition to your coffee paraphernalia. The kind of thing to add some extra class to your coffee making ritual. :)

Black Maire is a native New Zealand hardwood. This stuff's tough, durable and looks amazing.

It’s a really solid piece, weighing in at about 300 grams. The base is a 58mm flat tamper made from heavy stainless steel that I've buffed to a mirror finish.
Also, the handle can be unscrewed so you can wash the base separately. (I've even thrown in a free rubber mat to put it on)

The handle has a simple oil finish to leave a more natural look. This also helps to protect the wood from the acids in coffee grounds and hands during everyday use.
Simply apply some furniture oil, or a product like Neopol etc. every now and then, to maintain the finish.

This is built to be used, not just to make your coffee station pretty. But it’ll definitely do that as well. :D
