Handbuilt woven bowl
These woven bowls are inspired by contemporary woven textiles and the softness of the threads, the rhythms created with the different colours and thicknesses.
Although clay become very solid once fired, I wanted to find a way to create some flowing patterns, add some volume and texture to my pieces.
These bowls are built by hand. Each little “thread” is added on a base layer, one by one. This is a very slow process but allows me to express some sort of softness similar to the fibre art that inspired me.
The inside is fully glazed so that they are water tight and can be used with liquids or foods.
