Black Maire Shaving Kit

This shaving set is made from Black Maire.
The shaver has durable chrome metal fittings and the brush has genuine badger hair bristles.
Badger hair brushes feel nice and soft on the skin and lather up really well.

Black Maire is a NZ native hardwood that is actually closely related to the olive.
It's quite a dense wood and so it makes for a good solid feel in the hand.

The woodgrain is amazing and no two pieces will ever be the same. They can range from quite dark and streaky, to a light sandy colour, with grain varying from straight to very wavy.

It's hard to capture the real color and patterns with a camera. Best appreciated in person.

Safety razors have made a resurgence over the last decade and with the cost of refill razors (such as Mach3 etc) going up all the time, many are returning to the more traditional methods.

It would make a great gift for the man who appreciates something different with a little masculine "old-time" appeal. Or even for yourself for a bit of nostalgia.

Note: Packets of double-edge razor blades can be purchased online from various sites, or even or at some pharmacies and supermarkets. They are very cost effective when compared to Gillette and Schick refills, with many types and profiles to suit your skin and stubble.
