This painting is about the beauty of life and death, and how one cannot possibly exist without the other. The skull is positioned in the middle of a cosmic wonderland. The lotus flowers of peace and enlightenment surround it, and the earth (snakes) and heavens (hawks) radiate from this central theme that everything is impermanent. The human skull reflects that impermanence, but within it is also the wisdom each human holds in their bones: that while everything will and must change, it only transmutes or changes form. Death is a doorway to transformation, literally and figuratively. Endings are also beginnings.
Prints are available as high quality, cold pressed giclee prints on 270 gm paper. Does not come framed. Size of print approximately 55cm x 57cm. Best quality prints are of similar size or smaller.
